UPMC Northwest Hospital

Northwest Infusion Center (1st floor)

Status: Full Time

Shift: typically, Monday - Friday, dayshift

Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate advanced clinical assessment, analytical, and critical-thinking skills within the framework of Relationship-Based Care.
  • Apply the nursing process to develop holistic, patient-centered plans of care that actively engage patients as partners.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members to support informed decision-making, care planning, and unit practice improvements.
  • Maintain accurate, thorough documentation that promotes continuity and quality of care.
  • Foster compassionate, healing relationships with patients, families, and colleagues.
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to developing others by precepting students, graduate nurses, and new hires.
  • Support continuous learning through research sharing, education resources, unit presentations, and journal club participation.
  • Build and sustain positive, respectful relationships while modeling cultural awareness and professional conduct.
  • Actively participate in shared governance at the unit level and serve on hospital-wide councils.
  • Perform duties in accordance with system-wide competencies and behaviors.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Minimum 2 years RN experience

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

ACLS due within 1 year of hire or transfer

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Act 33 with renewal
  • Act 34 with renewal
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
  • Current licensure either in the state where the facility is located or, if the facility is in a state covered by the multistate Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC) agreement, a multistate license issued by a participating NLC state. Hires and current employees working on an out-of-state NLC license who later change their residency to the state where the facility is also located will have 60 days upon changing their residency to apply for licensure within that state.
